Compare regular magnets & ceramic magnets… What’s the difference between the two? (I’m specifically interested in magnets for the 1″ button size.)

Are they the same size? How much can they hold? How weak/strong are the two? Ceramics are stronger, right?

Ceramics don’t have adhesive? They’re just held onto the button part by magnetism? If you’re pulling one off your refrigerator, are you likely to just pull the button part off and leave the magnet part behind? Is there a recommended adhesive for attaching them to the backs?

Are there any mailing issues with either magnet type? Meaning, if you’ve got 4 magnets glued on a card inside a little bubble mailer, is that good enough or do they need any additional packaging/padding to keep the package from attaching itself to some random piece of postal machinery? :)

Hi all, I’m new to this forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I make handmade Arab, Farsi, & Urdu greeting cards and crafts. One of the ways that I use my 1″ buttom machine is to make Arab League flag pins that I sell online at my zibbet shop (http://www.zibbet.com/acraftyarab). Recently I used my machine to make a set of Arabic alphabet letters magnets (http://www.zibbet.com/acraftyarab/artwork?artworkId=724314).

I also have a 2″ button machine but I don’t use it as much. I have over 50 buttons types that I sell in my zibbet shop, but my most popular is the Stay Calm and Eat Hummus buttons (http://www.zibbet.com/acraftyarab/artwork?artworkId=439791).

If you are thinking of finding an online selling venue, I would highly recommend Zibbet.com. They let you list 50 items for free and do not take a transaction fee when you sell something if you have a Basic account. (I do not work for Zibbet, I just like them a lot more then other selling sites that I’ve used in the past).
    Happy Selling!

1″ Magnet question – I just got a custom order for 1″ magnets, which aren’t something I’ve done before but it’s a big enough order that I’m ordering in supplies. I’m slightly nervous about the combination of collets and peel-and-stick magnets. What are they going to stick to if there’s no solid back to the magnet? Are the magnets just big enough to stick to the rim, or what?

    Dimple in Magnet Backs
I just bought my first batch of magnet sets. I am curious as to what the purpose of the dimple in the back cover is for. Can you tell me, please?
