Hello, and welcome to The Button Blog Discussion Forum!
Our goal in designing this forum was to make it as simple and user-friendly as possible. Utilizing the brand new P2 plugin developed by WordPress, we have delivered the most efficient online conversation platform available online. Think of it like Twitter specifically for button making…but without the 140 character limit!
A few quick notes:
- You will need to register or login before you can post a question a comment. And even if you have registered over at The Button Blog, you will need a separate login for the discussion forum, and vice versa.
- Now, here is the truly easy part. Once you are logged in, go to the discussion forum homepage and you will see a very Twitter-like box where you can enter your question or comment. Type it out (with no character limit!), tag it, and post it. It will be live and available for responses immediately!
- If you want to make things a little more complicated but have more options, after logging in you can click on the “Site Admin” in the sidebar (under the “Login / Register” heading) to post using a WYSIWYG editor should you so desire. Once you have clicked on “Site Admin” link, you will be taken to a WordPress-powered dashboard. Find the link in the top-left corner of the sidebar that says “Posts.” Click on it, and click “Add new.” Once you have entered your comment or question, add tags so it gets placed in the correct buckets and then find the button on the right side of the page that says “Publish.” Click it and your post is live!
- The most recent and most popular topics are listed in the sidebar to help you navigate your way through the site. There is also a search box if you don’t immediately see what you are looking for.
- Keep it clean (we edit bad words) and broadly on topic, and one of the button making experts from American Button Machines (or one of your friendly peers!) will respond promptly.
Update: The Button Blog Discussion Forum is gravatar enabled! To get your very own gravatar (example: the smiley face logo next to all posts by ABM) follow these simple steps:
- Go to http://en.gravatar.com/ and sign up with the email address you used when you sign up for our forum.
- Comment here as you normally would; your gravatar will display on this site every time!
